These Locally-Owned Restaurants Serve Up The Best Brunches in Mobile

With its delicious fusion of breakfast treats and lunch entrées, brunch is the perfect meal. It's no wonder that many people make it a mission to find the best restaurant to enjoy exciting midday offerings. Luckily, there are many options close to the Traditions at South apartments near the University of South Alabama. Here are some of the best brunch spots in Mobile:

The Noble South

It doesn't get any more local than The Noble South. Owner and head chef Chris Rainosek was born and bred right here in Mobile. As a child, he enjoyed cooking alongside his mom. Since then, Chris has studied with the best and honed his craft.

At The Noble South, you'll find a creatively curated offering of local, farm-to-table foods. The chefs love to change things up, so the menu is ever evolving. Try the fried oyster Benedict or the breakfast bowl, which features chicken thighs, glazed turnips, bacon, poached egg, and a delicious helping of corn grits from nearby Bayou Cora Farms.

Spot of Tea

In the center of the arts and entertainment district sits Spot of Tea. Owner Tony More opened the café in 1994 with his cousin, after teaching him the recipes and how to cook. Today, Spot of Tea has grown and changed along with the area, but still focuses on delivering great service and awesome food.

Specialties include the egg cathedral, a grilled English muffin topped with a crispy crab cake, scrambled eggs, and a house-made seafood sauce. Each dish also comes with tasty breakfast potatoes. The bananas Foster French toast is another local favorite.

SOCU

A more recent addition to the Dauphin Street restaurant scene, SOCU serves up the best southern comfort foods with a twist. You can enjoy brunch on Sundays, but SOCU's regular menu features some delicious brunch-like dishes as well.

Check out the creative fried lobster deviled eggs drizzled with sweet honey Sriracha sauce. Or try the classically-prepared shrimp and grits. You'll also find delicious fried chicken with crispy Belgian waffles.
